Register for a Library Card
Georgetown Township Public Library cards are issued to residents of Georgetown Township for library services including online access to ebooks and other electronic resources. The Georgetown Township Public Library requires official photo identification showing the resident’s name and permanent address. The following will be accepted:
- Michigan Driver’s License or State ID card with current Georgetown Township address
- Or, picture ID with proof of residency shown by any of the following:
- Voter registration card
- Recent utility bill (within the last 2 months)
- Insurance card
- Copy of lease or mortgage
- Copy of recent property tax statement
- Car registration
Persons under 18 years of age who are not emancipated minors must have the signature and ID with proof of residency of a parent or guardian on their application in order to be issued a card.
Cardholders are asked to update library accounts in the event of relocation or changes to contact information. Accounts will be set to expire every 3 years to remind staff to request updated contact information.
Cards are also available for local institutions (businesses and organizations) as well as for seasonal residents. Please contact the library for more information.
Residents within the Lakeland Library Cooperative geographical boundary who do not qualify for a library card at any Lakeland Library Cooperative member library may purchase a Georgetown Library non-resident card for a fee of $115. Non-resident cards are valid for a period of 1 year and will only be honored at the Georgetown Township Public Library. Non-resident cardholders may place holds on Georgetown Library items only.
